Backpack Appeal Underway!

The purpose and mission of Helping Hands is to assess the problems of the homeless and hungry in Westchester County, raise community awareness of their plight and determine a course of action to help.

Mission Backpack provides 'school-ready' backpacks for over 2000 of Westchester's poorest children, many of whom are homeless.  Invest in a child now!

Helping Hands depends solely on private donations and is an all-volunteer organization.  

Here's how you can help

• $26    Can provide one backpack filled with school supplies, such as a scientific calculator, notebooks, binders, pencils,  index cards & more
• $50    Can cover art supplies for 20 children: drawing paper, crayons, glue sticks
• $100   Can provide one hundred packages of college ruled paper

• $250   Can provide 400 marble composition books

• $500   Can provide 60 scientific calculators for grades 6-12
• $1000 Can help us improve the quality of our binders
